Docteur Rambaud's specialities
Laser eye surgery
Laser eye surgery on the cornea can correct all types of visual impairments (myopia, presbyopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism), provided that the preoperative assessment is favorable. The goal of laser eye surgery is to help you become independent from glasses or contact lenses. Several techniques are available, and the most suitable one will be selected based on the results of your preoperative evaluation. These include PRK, TransPRK, LASIK, PresbyLASIK, Phakic Implants, and PRELEX (Presbyopic Lens Exchange).
Cataract surgery
Cataract surgery is a procedure that involves removing the eye’s natural lens and replacing it with an artificial intraocular lens. Normally, the lens in your eye is clear. A cataract gradually causes the lens to become cloudy, eventually affecting your vision.
Focus on myopia
Myopia (nearsightedness) causes blurred distance vision, which requires optical correction with glasses and/or contact lenses.
It affects around 45% of the population in France, and its prevalence is steadily increasing — it is estimated that 60% of the population could be affected by 2050. Once myopia has stabilized, generally after the age of 21, we can offer laser vision correction (PRK, TransPRK, LASIK). For high myopia that exceeds the limits of laser correction, phakic intraocular lenses (phakic implants) may be recommended.
